This is highlighted by the president of the Tourism Consortium and the Councillor for Employment and Social Economy, Alberto Lema, who stresses that "the city's gastronomic offer is one of our strongest claims, not only because of the quality of our cuisine, but also of our products. That's why this event will also serve to highlight the production sector. "

In this way, and as indicated by the councillor, "the restaurants of A Coruña will play a relevant role in the festival to showcase the current cuisine of the city, accommodating both tradition and new formats and vindicating our unique Atlantic gastronomy ".

Then, two chefs, the Michelin-starred Iván Domínguez (Alborada Restaurant and Arallo Taberna) and Javi Freijeiro (with 'Pracer', a new culinary project about to open its doors) participated in a showcooking.

The two members of the Coruña Cociña collective, with whom the City Council prepares diverse actions aimed at promoting the tourism and gastronomy of the city, made freshly cooked white asparagus "á feira" and baked  and smoked mackerel with pine needles, cauliflower mash and pickled fennel.

At the end of the Show cooking, there was a product tasting for all the people attending.

The SAL Sabores Atlánticos Festival will take place in June on the Esplanade of the Parrote and it will feature show cooking from top rate professionals and Michelin stars from all around the world.

During the three days of the Festival, the public can enjoy that on offer from those of the city’s restaurants that have signed up to the festival, as well as the offer of the food trucks, tastings, wine tasting, cooking workshops, lectures and children's activities, among others.

This new festival shall serve as the framework to afford more visibility to producers and cooks in the Atlantic region in order to expand the offer of gastronomic activities in the city. "This event complements the other highlights of the city, some driven by the council such as Boucatise, the Laconic days or the Picadillo tapas contest, or others that we welcome and with whom we collaborate such as the Gastronomic Forum, the “Bo en Boca” or the Sherry Festival, which not only attract an outstanding number of visitors, but also serve to bring dynamism to the sector ", says Lema.

The SAL Sabores Atlánticos Festival website www.festivalsal.es has all the information for the enrolment of restaurants and food trucks of the city that still want to participate. The enrolment period ends on May 11th.
